Once Twitter and Facebook was banned on Iran but now its available after many years.There was no direct entry to these sites on Iran for years.
Its not sure that this decision is official or not.Twitter and Facebook was banned on 2009 in Iran.The reason was that it was told Facebook and Twitter was used against government.
To use these sites people from Iran used Virtual Private Network "VPN Software".They can connect their computer to a computer which is in other country by using this software.But telecommunications also rejected all those traffic networks.
Iran new president Hassan Rouhani announced
that there wont be more censorship on using
internet. Not only that many cabinet members
including Mohammad Jawed Zarif,launched their
pages on Facebook and Twitter.
The news was told on last Monday on Newyork
Times the leading newspaper.People enjoyed
this news by putting status on their accounts
thanking president.
Internet censoring on Iran is done by
the supreme council for cyberspace.Supreme
council has the right to block many of the
website pages.Not only that,polices in small
groups wander in the city and enter into the
house and gives warning not to open restricted
websites.
Many Iran politicians define Facebook
as zionist Device.Rouhani was against this
and he re-launched these websites.There are
other sayings that it is due to the error in
the firewall created by the government.
